Lloyd Franklin Baker, 86, of Bee Branch, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2025. Lloyd was born in Cameron, Missouri, and was the youngest of three boys. After graduating from high school, Lloyd enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed in multiple locations across the globe. His last posting was at Little Rock Air Force Base in Jacksonville, Arkansas, where he met his future wife, Sharon. Lloyd and Sharon were married and settled in Little Rock, Arkansas, where they began their family with the birth of their son, Jon Christopher. After completing his term as an airman, Lloyd was honorably discharged and began his civilian career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Little Rock District where he worked within the hydropower mission to support the development and maintenance of the electrical systems of the hydroelectric facilities in northern Arkansas. Lloyd retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and settled in Bee Branch, Arkansas, with Sharon where they were active members of the community and the Damascus United Methodist Church.
Lloyd was a loving father and grandfather and a devoted husband. Lloyd enjoyed traveling with his family to many destinations across the United States visiting landmarks, parks and extended family. He was an accomplished carpenter and electrician who generally fixed more things than he broke. Although Lloyd slowed down in his later years, he always kept busy and rarely missed church, meeting with friends for Sunday lunch or afternoon tea at the local gas station.
Lloyd is survived by his son, Chris, daughter-in-law, Lisa, of Austin, Texas; his grandchildren, Alexandra and Andrew of Austin, Texas, sister-in-law, Pat Baker of Gallatin, Missouri. Lloyd is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon A. Baker (Hutchison), his brothers, Carl and Melvin Baker, and parents, Marvin and Grace Baker (Simpson).
A celebration of life service is planned for Thursday, Aug. 14 at 11 a.m. at Damascus United Methodist Church. Lloyd will be interred next to his beloved wife at Pine Mountain Cemetery in Bee Branch, Arkansas. Arrangements by Neptune Society, Little Rock.
