JEANERETTE-A Mass of Christian burial was conducted for Sylvia Ann Webre Landry, 84, at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Broussard officiating. Entombment followed at St. John the Evangelist Cemetery.
A resident of Jeanerette, Ms. Sylvia passed away at 10:14 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her family.
Sylvia was a dedicated parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic minister and was an active member of the Catholic Daughters Association. A devoted stay-at-home mom, Sylvia cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Her love for animals and her compassionate nature reflected her devout Catholic faith, as she was always eager to lend a helping hand to those in need. Sylvia's legacy of love, faith and service will continue to inspire her family and all who knew her.
She is survived by her children Jeff Landry (Paige Landry) of Jeanerette, Chris Landry of Youngsville, and Jeanne Shelton (Robert Shelton) of Jeanerette; grandchildren Eric Shelton, John Shelton, Victoria Landry, Danielle Landry, Maggie Ivring (Samuel Irving) and Lauren Dugas (Alex Dugas); great-grandchildren Austin, Abby, Amy, Ella, Amelia and Cam; two sisters, Faye Landry and Patsy Stewart.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Amy Lousie Landry; her husband Harold Landry; her brother Roy Webre; and her parents.
Honored to serve as pallbearers were John Shelton, Austin Irving, Robert Shelton, Timmy Landry, Stephan Landry and Brian Stewart.
Honorary pallbearers were Eric Shelton, Alex Dugas and Wayne Guidry.
