Judith Adams Obituary

Judith Adams, age 71, of Ashley passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Sparrow Hospital, Lansing. Born on August 4, 1953, Judy was the daughter of Duane and Patricia (Garris) Taylor. Since 1962, she and her three siblings were proudly raised by her mother and stepfather, David Upton. A 1971 graduate of Fulton High School, she briefly worked in a shoe factory before getting married at a young age. She and her husband Mark owned the Lamplight Restaurant (now the Rusty Nail) until it was sold in the 1980's. Above all, Judy's passion was to care for others, and she adored being a mother.
She was a proud member of the Carson City American Legion Post 380 Auxiliary. Judy enjoyed sewing and was active in a sewing and quilting club; she also liked to weave rugs for friends and family. She worked for USPS for several years, retiring in 2013 as a letter carrier. Judy met her life partner, Ken Pung, in November 2010, and they have been inseparable since. She and Ken enjoyed taking trips together and visiting with family and friends. Judy could often be found tending her gardens at home, enjoying both flowers and vegetables. Judy is survived by her life partner Ken Pung; son Troy (Jessica) Adams; grandchildren Tyler Adams, Kyle Durdle, Connor Newswanger, Devin Adams, Kianna Newswanger, Bradley Adams, William Adams, and Nathan Adams; great-grandson Hoyt Adams; brother Jeff (Kandy Litwiller) Taylor, sisters Karen Coleman and Toni (Brad) Vanderstow; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; children Kirk Adams and Teresa Austin; and brother-in-law Ken Coleman. A memorial gathering of family and friends will take place on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 10am to 12pm, at the Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home, Carson City.
