Born: May 27, 1937 | Died: July 8, 2025
Emma Maxine Dunn, 88 years on this earth went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. Maxine devoted her early years to caring for children in her home, creating a nurturing and loving environment for many. Her compassion and dedication later led her to work at Olympia Child Development Center and HIS Kids, where she continued to share her warmth with young lives. After her husband's retirement, she embraced new opportunities, working at Coulter's Florist and Foothills Nursery, where her love for people and nature shone through.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer T. Dunn; parents, Horace and Emma (Hickey) Roberson; brothers, Roy, John, James and Horace Roberson, Jr.; infant brother, George Dewy Roberson; sisters, Willie Kirkland, Lula Nix, Ruby Downey, Evelyn Ogle, and Virginia Bowers.
Maxine is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Phillip and Debbie Dunn, Greg and Beverly Dunn; daughter, Melissa Dunn; grandchildren, Montana Dunn, Jake Dunn (Hailey), and Logan Dunn; great-granddaughter, Paisley Dunn "the favorite"; sisters-in-law, Clara Dunn, Brenda Dunn, and Anita Dunn; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to all the staff members of Clover Hill, the ER, Cardiac Teams, and SICU Nurses of Blount Memorial Medical Center (Prisma).
The family will receive friends from 4 PM to 5 PM Saturday, July 12th with the Funeral Service to follow at 5 PM at Atchley's Seymour Chapel, 122 Peacock Court, Seymour, TN 37865. The Graveside Service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, July 13th in Cedar Grove Cemetery, 5302 Nails Creek Rd, Maryville, TN 37804, with Rev. Ronnie Buchanan officiating.
