Maureen Ellis Obituary

Uncasville - Maureen O'Connell Ellis, 84, of Uncasville, passed away July 2, 2025, at Hartford Hospital with her husband of 68 years, Albert Ellis, by her side.

After caring for her four children and many assorted animals, Maureen worked as a technical typist at Brown University Medical School. With her boundless energy, she pursued her college education and quickly obtained an M.S. in speech language pathology at U.R.I. As a clinical coordinator at Southeast Hearing and Speech, a contractor for Project Learn, and a specialist in the Lyme-Old Lyme School District, she helped many people improve their speech. She was a loving and fun wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend - always putting others before herself.

She is survived by her husband; four children; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her brother and his family.

Per her wishes, her life will be celebrated by her family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to your local Humane Society. Please visit www.byles.com to share a memory or condolence with the family.
