Margaret (Peggy) O'Toole Obituary

Margaret "Peggy" O'Toole passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 22, 2025 in Jupiter, Florida. Born in Bronx, New York to Albert and Annie Turner on July 1, 1932, Peggy later married her beloved husband, Francis "Frank" O'Toole, who preceded her in death in 1980. Together, they settled in Verona, New Jersey, where they raised four children. Theirs was a home filled with love, where friends and family were welcomed with open arms.

Peggy was a devoted mother and wife, whose proudest accomplishment was raising her four children whom she spoke proudly of with love and admiration: Francis "Frank" (dec. 2016); Daniel "Danny" (Lori); Brian (Laura); and Margaret. Cherished "Grammie" to Justin, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Jack, Connor and Erin, Peggy's hands were rarely still as she was frequently cooking, baking, sewing, knitting, mowing the lawn, shoveling winter snow, or tending to her gardens. (Her Saturday night spaghetti and meatballs were legendary and will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have a seat at her dinner table.) Peggy approached life with a quiet determination defined by hard work, kindness and compassion. Strong, gentle and gracious, she touched everyone she met with warmth and boundless generosity, always eager to lend a hand or share a smile. Some of her happiest memories were spent at the Jersey shore, enjoying happy days in the sun with family.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Annie Turner; husband, Frank; son, Frank Jr.; brother, Charles; and sisters, Florence and Alice.

Mom, Rest in Peace, knowing we will carry you with us always. Thank you for your strength, your resilience, your warmth, your sacrifices, your tenderness and most importantly, your unwavering love.

A private gathering will be held in Peggy's honor for close family and friends, as per her wishes. A celebratory mass will be scheduled at a later time, to be officiated by her brother-in-law, Reverend Timothy O'Toole.
