Tommy Waters Obituary

Tommy Albert Waters, age 88 of Dalton, Georgia, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025.
He was born August 15, 1936, in Fannin County, to the late George Waters and Bessie Payne Waters.
Tommy was a retired truck driver for Shaw Industries. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Blue Ridge.
Tommy loved hunting, fishing, and mowing the grass.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott Waters; brothers, Jessie Waters, Lester Waters, Charlie Waters, Herbert Waters, Melvin Waters, and Roy Waters; and sisters, Annie Queen, Jean Harrison, Dorothy Lewis, and Evon Rymer.
Survivors are his wife, Margaret Jean Waters of Dalton, Georgia; sister, Lorene Pless of Chatsworth, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Rita Waters, of Cohutta, Georgia; grandson, Clayton Waters of Cohutta, Georgia; many other family and friends also survived.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, March 25, at 1 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Copperhill Chapel with the Rev. John Newton officiating. Music was by the Kenny O'Neal Family. Interment followed in the Mt. Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Harold West, Clayton Waters, Edwin Patterson, Richard Deal, Calvin Allen, and Harold Allen.
The family received friends at the funeral home Monday evening, March 24 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Mt. Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Travis Couch, 93 Couch Drive, McCaysville.
