John Smith Obituary

NEW MILLPORT - John M. "Turkey Jack" Smith, 95, of New Millport, died Saturday, May 3, 2025 at UPMC of Altoona.

Born June 27, 1929, he was the son of Michael Smith and Mildred Kelly and the step-son of Ardell Bloom.

John served in the U.S. Navy from 1947-1951. He was stationed in Norfolk, Va. on the USS Burdo. He worked at Tafco and Penn Traffic as a truck driver until his retirement.

John was an avid hunter and enjoyed hunting with family and friends in PA, Idaho and Montana. He especially enjoyed his trips out west when hunting for elk.

John is survived by his wife, Lisa (Johnson) Smith; three children, Debra Malloy and her husband Mike, Jay Smith, and Todd Smith and his wife Jackie; two step- children, Amie Myers and Trisha Bensky; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Michael Smith and Kelly Smith; and sister, Dixie Davis.

There will be no public viewing at John's request.
