Marcella Theresa Hesoun

Born: July 9, 1938 | Died: April 28, 2025

Marcella "Marcie" Theresa Hesoun, 86, of Surgoinsville, TN passed from her Earthly home to her Heavenly home on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Johnson City Medical Center. She was a faithful Christian who loved her family.

Marcie was born and raised in Westbrook, Maine. In her high school years, she was captain of the cheerleading squad and yearbook photographer. She met her husband, Jerry Hesoun, in Tampa, Florida. They later moved to Norris, Tennessee where they raised their three children. They also lived in Saudi Arabia for two years and several years in Bay County, FL before retiring in Surgoinsville, TN.

She was an avid quilter who made countless quilts for her family and friends. She loved her church family and served in the Soup and Scriptures Ministry. She loved her plants and feeding and watching wild birds.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rene "Mike" and Eva Marier. Her husband of 53 years, Jerry Hesoun, and two sisters, Anita Skinner and Cecilia Barnard.

Survivors include: her sister, Lucia "Peggy" Warren of Maine and Florida; her sons Jeffrey (Heidi Lee) Hesoun of Surgoinsville, TN and Mark (Paula) Hesoun of Tallahassee, FL; and a daughter Heidi (Wes) McElravy of Elizabethton, TN. She was Nana to her grandchildren including: Mathias (Tasha) Overbay, Haley (Aaron) Perry, Heather (Jourdan Goodwin) Overbay, Holly (Jonathan) Dom, Forest (Lorinda Hardin) Overbay, Kelly (Zach) Berlinghoff, Sarah Hesoun, and Jenny Hesoun. Step-Grandchildren include: Hayley (Nick) Miller, Kelsey (Anthony Horton) McElravy. She also has 20 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. at Surgoinsville First United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 17, 2025, with a Celebration Of Life service to follow at 3:00 p.m.
