Daisy Mae Rutland

August 13, 1933 - January 19, 2025

Ridge Spring, South Carolina - Daisy Mae Rutland, 91, of Ridge Spring, SC, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, January 19, 2025. Born and raised in Ridge Spring, she was a beloved daughter of the late Foster and Geneva Pilot McGee. Daisy was a lifelong member of Ridge Spring Baptist Church, where she joyfully served as a Sunday School teacher. Daisy's love for her community was evident in her many roles. She was an member of the Ridge Spring Garden Club, the Ridge Spring Ladies Auxiliary, and the American Legion. Her passion for her town also shone through her involvement in the Ridge Spring Harvest Festival, where she contributed her time and energy to support local events and traditions.

Surviving are her daughters, Linda Rutland and Helen Greene; two grandchildren: Joanne Shaw (Vincent) and Ronald Greene, Jr.; four great grandchildren: Alexander, Cameron, Toby and Baylee; along with two great great grandchildren: Kaiden and Axel. Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Wanda McGee and brother-in-law, Gene Aspedon; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of more than 50 years, Willie C. Rutland; daughter, Geneva Letendre and her siblings, Junior, Connie, Joyce, Dorothy and Martha.

The service for Mrs. Rutland will be held at 11 o'clock, Thursday, January 23rd at Ridge Spring Baptist Church. The Rev. Bobby Jackson will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10 o'clock in the church fellowship hall. Milton Shealy Funeral Home, is assisting the family.
