Debra Sanders Obituary

Debra "Debbie" M Sanders
Alton - Debra "Debbie" M. Sanders, 66, passed away peacefully at 9:05 a.m., on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, in Alton, Illinois.
Born on April 6, 1959, in San Diego, California, to Raymond and Barbara Jean Stark, Debra spent her early years in Soulard, Missouri, before settling in Alton.
On September 10, 1999, she married the love of her life, Scott Sanders, at the Madison County Courthouse. He survives her, along with their children: Sarah Buscemi, Krissi Buscemi, and Jeremey (Abby) Sanders.
Debra was a woman who cherished her family above all else. She was an avid cook, enjoyed spending time with friends, and could often be found relaxing with a Hallmark movie. Her true joy came from her grandchildren, with whom she shared a special bond. Debra's legacy lives on through her three grandsons: Jacob Branham, Caleb Osbourne, and Parker Sanders, and her great granddaughter, Stella Zacker.
She is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Heather Zacker, with whom she has now been reunited in heaven.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025 from 12 to 2 p.m., at Godfrey First United Methodist Church, 1100 Airport Rd., Godfrey, IL 62035.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf are entrusted with the professional arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alton Boys & Girls Club.
