Lola Jo Harrison
South Roxana - Lola Jo Harrison, 90, passed away at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Aspen Creek of Troy. She was born on September 14, 1934, in Carthage, MO, the daughter of the late Buster and Nellie (Alexander) Gencks. She married Paul Harrison on June 8, 1954, in Carthage, MO, and he preceded her in death on October 23, 2008. Survivors include two daughters, Jo Ann Ruyle of South Roxana, Carol Crayne of Staunton; five grandchildren, Chris (Courtney) Hester, Brandi Myers, Jari Ruyle, Michael Ruyle, Paul (Ashley) Crayne; eight great grandchildren, Myles, Kuper, Kael, Mollie, Seth, Macie, Jase, Gracelyn; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
Jo was a secretary at Boeing for several years prior to her retirement.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her step mom, Evelyn Gencks; a son in law, Gary Crayne; a great grandson, Aaron "Axle" Myers; two brothers, Roy Gencks, Rollin Gencks, and a sister in law, Beverly.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11a.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Ross Wells will officiate. Burial will follow at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
