Alan "Doug" Raney, 62, of Homosassa, FL, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 12, 2025. Doug was born in Texarkana, AR, but called East Texas home for 40+ years before relocating to Florida in 2011. He was a self-employed businessman in the pool construction and automotive accessories industries.
Doug was known for his strong work ethic, patient demeanor, solid faith, calming presence, and generous heart. When not working or helping others, he enjoyed NASCAR, football, baseball, darts, horseshoes, frying turkeys, and beer! He also enjoyed traveling, especially if the destination was to be with family and friends. Doug was an active member of Citrus Sertoma and the West Citrus Elks, as well as a faithful member of St. Benedict Catholic Church.
Doug is survived by his wife, Vicki (Hahn Day) Raney, of Homosassa, son Justin (Brittney) of Texarkana, daughter Brittany of Texarkana, stepson Kevin (Maddie) Day of Colorado Springs, CO, stepdaughter Lindsay (Cliff) Chang of San Diego, CA, and 10 grandchildren.
He is also survived by sisters Gayle Little, Amie Crowden, and Tonya Elder, and brothers Paul and Chris, as well as many much-loved nephews, nieces, and in-laws. He is predeceased by his parents, Alfred Raney and Helen Irvin.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 27th, 10:00 a.m., at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 455 S Suncoast Highway, Crystal River, FL, preceded by a Rosary at 9:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to McKnight Brain Institute at the University of Florida – Gainesville. mbi.ufl.edu/giving.

The few times that I was able to spend time with Vicki and Doug, he was just such a sweet man. I know that the love they shared was special. May he rest in peach in our loving God´s arms!
