Alice Webster, 71, went to live with the angels Sunday, October 27th, 2024.
Alice was born to Harold and Bernice Sidebottom in Wichita, KS on October 21st, 1953. The youngest of four, she had 2 older brothers Dean and Marvin and 1 older sister, Willa Faye. Her parents and Dean preceded her in death.
As a child, Alice loved spending time with her animals, especially horses and her dairy cow Judy. Her family would spend many summers together in Ness County, KS during the Summer Wheat Harvest.
She would later move to Lyons, KS and finish out high school.
After high school, Alice moved back to Wichita and went to vocational school where she learned key punch. She then started working at Coleman in 1974.
Shortly after she started working at Coleman, she met her future husband, Thomas Webster. He survives at the home.
They became husband and wife on January 17th, 1976.
On July 22nd, 1978, they would welcome their first child Joshua Thomas.
2 years later, on July 3rd, 1980, they welcomed their second son, Austin Matthew.
Joshua and Austin kept Alice busy until they welcomed their only babygirl, Shelby Johanna on December 2nd, 1985.
Over the years, they were able to go on many family vacations together and spend a lot of quality time making memories as a family. You would often find Alice and the kids at Grandma and Grandpa Sidebottom’s. It was important to Alice to make sure her parent’s presence were in her children’s life’s.
On July 30th, 1998, Alice would become a grandmother to Hunter Allen, the son of Austin. He would remain her only grandchild until May 19th, 2014, when Joshua welcomed Johanna Rose into the world.
Alice was a loving grandmother and often stated that being a mother and grandmother were her favorite titles.
On October 4th, 2019, Alice became a great-grandmother to Brianna Sage, daughter of Hunter. She often called Brianna by her own unique nickname “Breezy”.
Throughout Alice’s life, she embraced her life long title of homemaker and “railroad widow”, as Tom was gone often due to working on the railroad.
She loved her family fiercely and selflessly. She loved her Mo-Town music and fast cars. You could always count on Alice to have music blaring in the house at any given time.
As we continue to grieve her passing, we also continue to celebrate her life. Her spirit will live on through her children and grandchildren’s life.

My sympathy to the family. I grew up with Alice and have many fond memories being in Girl Scouts with her and going over to her house. Later on, our sons played Biddy Basketball together, so I was able to meet her family, too. Thinking of you all.
