Stephen A. Sr.
MECHANICVILLE -
Stephen A. Slater Sr., 62, died on Sunday, June 15, 2025, after dealing with several recent health issues. Born in Albany, on June 5, 1963, son of the late Bruce and Eileen Brown Slater, he was a graduate of Columbia High School.
Steve was an auto body technician most of his life, working for many years at DiCarlo's Auto Body in Troy, until his medical issues forced him to retire.
Steve was formerly a race car driver at the Lebanon Valley Speedway, a huge NASCAR fan and also the NY Jets. He enjoyed music and playing the guitar. A talented handyman, he was a Mr. Fix-it to all who knew him and needed a hand with a project. He also enjoyed garage sale-ing and was always looking to get the last word. He always looked forward to the Saratoga Race Course, especially opening day.
He is survived by his companion of the past 23 years, with whom he shared many great memories with, Kimberly Mascord. Also his children, Stephen Slater Jr., Joseph (Michelle) Slater, Taylor Slater and Dylan Slater; four grandchildren; as well as his sister, Sandra Slater.
In keeping with Steve's wishes, there will be no services held.
