Joyce Horowski

Joyce Horowski, 90, of Allentown and formerly of Tamaqua, died on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, in Allentown. She was the wife of Theodore Horowski to whom she was married for 54 years at the time of his death in 2009.

Born in Coaldale, Joyce was a daughter of Daniel and Thelma (Correll) Flexer. A 1952 graduate of Tamaqua High School and a 1954 graduate of McCann's Business School, she worked for many years at the Office of the Magisterial District Court in Tamaqua and was a member of Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church in Tamaqua. Joyce enjoyed word puzzles and stayed active for her many years at Country Meadows by helping to organize the residents' mail and the residents' store.

She is survived by a son, David and his wife Diane (DiGirolamo) Horowski of Zionsville; a grandson, Neil Horowski and his wife Dana of Zionsville; a granddaughter, Jenna Sampley and her husband Matt of Denver, Colorado; three great grandchildren, Addison, Simon and Cecilia; and several nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore, and a brother, Daniel Flexer.

Services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua with the Rev. Kevin Roberts officiating. Interment in Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown will follow the services. Call 9-10 AM on Saturday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.zgfuneralhome.com.
