Leonard Stauffer Obituary

Leonard James "Lenny" Stauffer, 80, of Polk Township, Kunkletown, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, in The Summit at the Blue Mountain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Lehighton.
He owned and operated Stauffer Concrete and Excavating Company, Kunkletown, for 40 years until retiring in 2010, and also had owned and operated the Jonas Hotel from 1960-70
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Samuel and Mae (Dorshimer) Stauffer.
After the passing of his mother when Lenny was in second grade, he moved from Allentown to Jonas and was raised by his Uncle Ernie and Aunt Lillian Kreger.
An avid hunter and fisherman, he loved the outdoors, boating, playing a round of golf with friends, traveling and model railroading.
He was instrumental in the formation of the Polk Township Volunteer Fire Company, Kresgeville, and was also a former Polk Township Supervisor.
We are thankful for the blessings and joy that Lenny has shared with us. He will be deeply missed by his children: David E. "Buster," and his wife, Giselle, of Kunkletown, and Cynthia S. "Cindy," wife of Kenny Gates of Inman, S.C.; two stepgrandchildren, Sasha and Roberto Faust; his companion, Gloria Whitman of Kunkletown; a brother Samuel, and his wife, Rose, of Las Vegas, Nev.; and several nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by his former wife and constant good friend, Janet M. Stauffer of Inman.
His love of family, enjoyment of life and appreciation for the outdoors, are gifts we will carry with us forever.
