Larry Henderson

Larry Henderson, 83, of Walbridge, OH, passed away surrounded by family on July 12, 2025. He was born on April 2, 1942, in Massillon, OH, to Charles N. and Kathryn (Witting) Henderson. He was a proud graduate of Clay High School, Class of 1960. He married Suzanne Christiansen on October 5, 1963. He worked as a carman on the railroad, and then found his true calling as a carpenter. He was a carpenter for over 40 years with Local 248/351 before his retirement in 2003. Larry also served as a volunteer firefighter for Walbridge/Lake Township Fire Department for over 10 years.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Sue; children, Gary (Michalina) Henderson and Debra (Joel) Major; grandchildren, Julie Henderson, Chad Major, Anne (John) Lombardo, Sarah Major, and Adam Major; great-grandchildren, Maci Magrum and Baby Lombardo due in December; brother-in-law, Kent (Linda) Christiansen; and sister-in-law, Ruth Henderson. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles E. and Harry; and his sister, Sandra.

Family and friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd., in Oregon, OH, on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m., with the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. There will be a private burial at Lake Township Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, consider a memorial contribution to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, who care for Larry so compassionately.
