Suzette Valiton Obituary

Suzette Valiton

May 21, 1952 – June 16, 2025

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Suzette Frances Valiton on June 16, 2025.

Suzette was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend to many. Her captivating smile and laugh will be missed by all who loved her.

Suzette was preceded in death by her parents, James L. Valiton and Elizabeth J. Valiton; sister, Marianne Jones. She is survived by her husband, Leo Kramer; sons, Bradley Youssef, Gary Youssef; daughter, Alison Ward; brother, Peter Valiton; sisters, Jane Valiton, Julia Goldberg; grandchildren, Lucas Youssef, Bradley Youssef; and her many beloved friends.

Suzette was born May 21, 1952. She grew up in Toledo and graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1970. Suzette always had lots of friends and was a very social person; people say she lit up the room! She enjoyed playing tennis, cheerleading and was homecoming queen in high school. As a child she spent time with her family at Devil's Lake, MI, and later, as a parent, she continued to create special memories there.

She found a modest cottage between the lakes in the best location imaginable to create unforgettable memories with her kids. In the summertime they enjoyed boating, swimming, fishing, riding bicycles, going on adventures, cooking, having bonfires, and celebrating holidays and birthdays together. Sooze also enjoyed attending her kid's baseball and softball games at Memorial Field in Sylvania. She supported every interest and activity her kids pursued through her thoughtful actions and enthusiasm. In the wintertime they enjoyed ice skating, sledding, and other outdoor activities.

Suzette worked tirelessly to help create an abundant life for her kids whom she loved fiercely. In her 40's, she put herself through college and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Corporate Wellness from the University of Toledo. She devoted her career to helping others by improving their quality of life through health and wellness. She pioneered her own integrative wellness center, which addressed natural approaches to whole health. Suzette was an independent thinker with a beautiful mind and sharp wit. She worked hard and made a commitment to leading by example.

Suzette enjoyed spending time visiting her grandchildren and kids out west in California, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana. They would go to the beaches, float the rivers, hike in the mountains and go boating together. Every visit would include cooking Mediterranean food and having the best laughs.

Suzette was an outstanding cook, always happy to share techniques, recipes, healthy ingredients and new ways to approach nutritious cooking. She enjoyed going to farmer's markets and charming coffee shops and restaurants. She loved chatting about those new places and discoveries made. She also taught her kids how to cook and together they created delicious and priceless memories. Suzie made everyone feel warm and welcome in her kitchen, and in life.

Suzette was proud of her children for pursuing things they were passionate about, living life their own way and doing what makes them happy. She encouraged them to go for it, explore new places, and see what the world has to offer. Her kids lived every day knowing their Mom loved them more than anything on earth. They were extremely proud of her! She gave her kids everything.

Suzette loved her brother and sisters. She admired them and cherished her unique relationships with each of them. Some of her favorite times were getting together on holidays, cooking and celebrating. When they were all together it was joyful and full of laughter. Her sense of humor was one of her best qualities. Suzette's signature laugh was powerful, contagious and no doubt, sincere. We would instantly smile when we heard it!

Suzette had many friends whom she loved dearly. She would always be there for her loved ones offering priceless advice or a kind word to help get them through a tough time. Suzette was admired by her family and friends for her strength, resilience, and ability to move forward through difficult times in her life. Nothing could keep her down long; she demonstrated such dignity and class throughout her life. Sooze had the unique gift of making every person she loved feel like they were her favorite.

Suzette was truly one of a kind, genuine, and most certainly one of God's best creations. We will love her and miss her forever.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Family and friends will be notified of the arrangements once it is scheduled. Thank you for your loving thoughts and prayers.

I am so, so sorry to learn of Suzette´s passing. I have been a client of Lee´s for over 20 years, and I had met her in his company and knew her through all of Lee´s stories I know how much she was loved and how much she will be missed. Holding family and loved ones in the light -most especially Lee, for whom I know this loss is beyond words.

I´m saddened by the loss of this wonderful person. You only had to meet her once to know how special she was to this world. She never forgot you once you met and chatted. The world was definitely a better place because of her.

As a classmate of NDA, class of 1970, I can say Suzette was always a go-getter: attractive, active, a good student and very personable! Talent will get you there, but character will keep you there! She had both!-Mary M. Wagner-Robinson, Toledo.
