David Queen Obituary

David Queen went to be with the Lord on July 2, 2025. Born on May 2, 1937, in Homestead, he was the son of the late Antonia and Antonio Queen. Dave graduated from Braddock High School and, at age 21, married Colette Kubik, of Braddock. Together, they shared 61 wonderful years of marriage and raised three children in North Huntingdon. In his younger years, Dave developed a passion for cars and basketball and was a lifetime Steelers football fan. He worked as a shipping clerk at United States Steel in Homestead, retiring in 1985 after more than 30 years of service. Following his retirement, he spent 16 years working part-time for BP. Dave was a committed volunteer with the United States Steelworkers Union. He coached PAL basketball and volunteered as a "band-aid" with the Norwin High School marching band. He and Colette rarely missed a ball game, motorcycle race, hockey game, or performance involving their children and grandchildren. He was a lifelong member of St. Angela Merici Catholic Church in White Oak. He was preceded in death by his parents, numerous siblings, and his beloved wife, Colette. Dave is survived by his daughter, Cherie McClelland, and her husband, David McDeavitt; his sons, Keith Queen and his wife, Sandi, and Bruce Queen and his wife, Coleen; his brother, Bernie Queen; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Dave will be remembered for his kind heart, warm smile, and sense of humor. His legacy lives on in the love he shared and the memories cherished by all who knew him. A celebration of life will be held next month in Summerville, SC.

Had Renee not shared the news of Uncle Dave's passing I would have been nervous opening up an obituary with my name on it. Although terrible at staying in touch, I have found childhood memories of Uncle Dave, Aunt Colette, and my cousins, during visits in PA and MI. Both were always smiling, happy, warm, and loving to us. I'm glad I got to see him at my dad's, Ruben, funeral. God bless and keep your family now and always until we are united again with Our Lord.
