Fred A. Brawdy, 66, passed away Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born in Pittsburgh Feb. 16, 1955, to Donald and Catherine Romanoff Brawdy. He served in the Navy and was a nuclear electronics technician with Bettis Laboratories. Fred was an avid hockey fan, as well a player. He enjoyed antiques and precious metals. Fred was very involved in numismatics, serving as the vice president of the West Mifflin Coin Club for over two decades. He loved spending time with his family and friends. His passions were fishing, traveling, reading, enjoying beach life and live music. He was a true entertainer and storyteller, especially relating to his time at sea and Irish heritage. His life lessons will leave a lasting impression on those closest to him. Fred is survived by his loving wife, Zlata; son, Jason; daughter, Sandra; son-in-law, Mike; grandchildren, Antonio and Olivia; and dog, Gizzy. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021, at FOX & WEEKS FUNERAL DIRECTORS, Hodgson Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 p.m. prior to the service.
