Louise Chuha Obituary

Louise Chuha, 83, of Braddock, PA, transitioned from this life peacefully with family and friends by her side on Monday, May 5, 2025, at West Penn Hospital. She was born on Feb. 17, 1942, in Somerville, Massachusetts, to the late Joe Callahan and Louise Grosmaire. Louise was blind since birth and attended the Perkins School for the Blind. She graduated with a Bachelors' degree from Springfield College. Louise married the late Larry Chuha, a lifetime resident of Braddock. Louise worked as a home teacher for the blind. She was an active member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church for over 50 years, where she sang in the choir, cantored at mass and translated hymnals into braille. Due to failing health, Louise spent her latter years at home reading and doing crafts. In spite of her many physical problems, Louise never complained and accepted life as it came. Louise was also preceded in death by sisters Judith Palmer and Patricia Miller. She leaves to cherish her memory sister Kathleen Dufresne; brother-in-law, Ronald Dufresne. Also a host of other family and friends. No viewing or visitation. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 1025 Braddock Ave., Braddock, PA 15104. Interment private.
