She was a resident of Sewickley, PA, for 44 years. She was an avid volunteer at the Sewickley YMCA, helping to run swim meets; a passionate contract bridge player; and, later in life, a volunteer, doing adult literacy and manning the front desk at the Sewickley Public Library every Tuesday morning for years. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Roy Hays and Iva Mae Shepperd Hays; her husband, Hans Manfred Dessloch; her sister, Mary H. Risley; and her brother, John S. Hays. She is survived by her son, Roy Dessloch (Patti); and daughters, Heidi Kafka (Barry), Erika Dessloch, and Ellen Dessloch (Nick); five grandsons, Simon Kafka, Eliot Kafka, Levi Hunsberger, Carson Hunsberger, and Maxwell Hunsberger; and nieces and nephews, Linda Graham, Hugh Risley, and John Risley.
