Anthony Faulk Obituary

Anthony L. "Tony" "Pudge" Faulk, 83, of Trees Mills, passed away Monday, Dec. 19, 2022. He was born April 26, 1939, in Trees Mills, a son of the late Orison and Ida (Bellora) Faulk. Tony began his career as a journeyman, tool and die maker, and was promoted to manufacturing engineer. In 1976, he along with his wife, Karen, and daughter, Danene, began selling Corvette parts. They ran Corvette World together for 29 years. He enjoyed hunting, but his favorite activities revolved around cars. Tony restored many classic cars and was involved with drag racing for more than 64 years. His daughter, Danene, interviewed him for a six-page article in the Pontiac Magazine, Smoke Signals. His favorite racing story originated in 1958, when he attended the Flying Mile Run on a portion of Interstate 80, which at the time was under construction near Akron, Ohio. Tony and his brother, Al, drove a 1957 Pontiac Chieftan there from Pennsylvania, and he took second place with a top speed of 134.25 mph. What makes this race so memorable for him is that the only car to beat him was a GM factory sponsored 1958 Chevy Impala, which was trailered in by GM and ran 134.75 mph. His mechanical skills could compete with the best. Tony enjoyed life and had a personality that could light up a room. He had the best sense of humor and made everyone smile. I think that is what those who knew him will miss the most. Tony was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Karen (Uplinger) Faulk; brother, Clifford Faulk; nephew, Scott Faulk; and niece, Susan Faulk. He is survived by his daughter, Danene Bialek and her husband, John, of Scottdale; brother, Allen (Doris) Faulk; nephews, Cliff, Keith, Todd, friend, Lois Jones, and his little buddy, Bandit. Respecting the family's wishes, arrangements will be private. VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC., 463 Athena Drive, Delmont, 724-468-1177, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
