Cheryl K. Keeler
On Friday, Nov. 26, 2021, longtime Mt. Pleasant resident Cheryl K. Keeler passed away in Tacoma, Wash. She was surrounded by family and loved ones. Cheryl was diagnosed with a serious brain tumor in August of 2021 and suffered a massive stroke while receiving cancer treatment. She is survived by a son, Scott Keeler; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and James Shanahan; two granddaughters, Colleen and Fiona Shanahan; and a grandson, Liam Shanahan, all from Tacoma, Wash. She is also survived by her sister, Kathy Pence, of Youngwood. Cheryl and Ken moved to Washington in 2015 to be closer to their children and grandchildren. They were able to enjoy many family vacations and holidays together before Ken's passing in 2019. Cheryl had recently returned to Mt. Pleasant for a month-long visit with her sister in June of 2021. She was so happy to see you all. A memorial service will be held for Cheryl at the American Legion in Mt. Pleasant from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022. A service will be performed by Pastor Bob Ellson of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church at 4 p.m. We hope to see all Cheryl's friends at the service to help us celebrate her life.
