James Beatty Obituary

James E. Beatty, 76, of Greensburg, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025. Jim was the husband of Mark Lawry and the father of Kelle Beatty and Mike Beatty (Annie). He was "Pap Pap" to three loving grandchildren Conner Beatty, who serves as a U.S. Marine, and also Charlotte and Sean Beatty, all of whom brought him endless joy and pride. Born on March 30, 1949, in Cleveland, OH, to the late Ellsworth and June Beatty, Jim was the oldest of six children. Jim is survived by his siblings Kevin, Brian, and Wendy; he was preceded in death by two brothers, Brad and Donald. He was also preceded in death by his late wife and the mother of his children, Joyce (Conner) Beatty. Jim will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his humor, and his faith. Jim was a regional manager for Gordon Shoes for 20 years and had previously worked for the U.S. Shoe Co. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Latrobe, where he served as an usher and a lector and volunteered at the Shepherd Shop. He loved music and cooking and baking for his family. Jim was a true animal lover and found comfort in his pets. Over the years, Jim faced numerous health challenges with remarkable courage. Despite these struggles, he remained strong in spirit and continued to bring laughter and love to those around him. Jim leaves behind a legacy of resilience and unwavering love for his family. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025, in HARTMAN-GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 1500 Ligonier St., Latrobe. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, 2025, in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 331 Weldon St., Latrobe. Service of committal and entombment will follow in the St. Clair Cemetery Mausoleum, Greensburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
