Deborah Pons Obituary

Deborah Ann (Kolar) Pons, 61, of West Newton, passed away at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025, in UPMC Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh. Deborah was born Dec. 5, 1963, a daughter of the late Joseph and Daryl (Troup) Kolar, who passed away in 2003 and 2011, respectively. She married Dennis J. Pons on June 24, 2003, and he survives her. Deborah was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She graduated from Southmoreland High School, Class of 1981, and received a business degree from the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg. Deborah was employed as a dental assistant for many years and was a member, along with her husband, of the First Church of God in West Newton. She enjoyed pearls, antiques, baking, gardening, arts and crafts, and knitting. Deborah will be sadly missed by her loving family: her husband of 22 years, Dennis J. Pons; her four sons, Jason Stamm (Dena), Jeremiah Stamm, Jacob Stamm, and Zachary Pons; her three grandchildren, Grace Stamm, Joseph Stamm, and Luca DiVirgilio; her sister, Karen Hauser; several nieces and nephews; and her loyal dog, Ben. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Kolar (2021), and her previous husband, Donald Stamm Jr. (2012). Family and friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, 2025, in the funeral home chapel, followed by a funeral service at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, 2025, with Pastor Beth Dunlap officiating.
