Esther Razdik Obituary

Esther Razdik, 101, of Lower Burrell, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025. She was born May 14, 1924, in Bruceton, to the late Belardino and Catherine Onesi and lived in Russellton before moving to Springdale in 1956 with her husband, John Razdik, and her daughters. She lived in Springdale for 64 years. Since 2020, she has lived in Lower Burrell with her daughter, Debra; and son-in-law, Howard Heavner. Esther attended Springdale High School. She worked at the Scaife Company in Oakmont, which manufactured metal tanks, compressors, and bomb casings for America's effort in World War II. Later, she worked for PPG and various plastics factories, retiring from Action Industries at 65. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Church in Springdale and St. Margaret Mary Church in Lower Burrell. She enjoyed reading the Tribune-Review newspaper daily, watching her favorite soap operas and news shows, and attending the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera for over 30 years, including this past summer at 101. She also liked going out to lunch especially the monthly Onesi Family Lunch Bunch and playing dominos with her niece Barbara Mennow and great-niece, Brenda Savage. Above all, she loved being with her family. Survivors are her two daughters, Linda Sudnik, of New Kensington, and Debra (Howard) Heavner, of Lower Burrell; two grandchildren, Matthew Sudnik, of Washington, DC, and Kirk Heavner, of Mars; one great-grandson, Alexander Heavner; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Razdik; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Belardino and Catherine Onesi; husband, John Razdik; son-in-law, Ronald Sudnik; her siblings and their spouses, Angeline Woods, Sam (Ann) Onesi, and Larry (Lucille) Onesi; and her in-laws and their spouses, Steve Razdik, Stella (Joe) Dzurec, and Ann (Martin) Slaninka. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, 2025, at THE RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOMES, 3124 Leechburg Road at Alder St., where Prayers of Transfer will be said at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 2025, followed by a Christian Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Margaret Mary Church. Burial will follow in Deer Creek Cemetery, Cheswick. www.RusiewiczFH.com
