George Johnson Obituary

George Allen Johnson, 74, of Grapeville, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at his residence. He was born June 16, 1950, and grew up in Louisville, KY, the son of the late James and Dorothy Wright Johnson. George worked as an electrician for Union Energy. He belonged to IBEW Local 369 and 5 union halls. George was a car guy and loved to laugh. Surviving are his wife, Mary Johnson; daughters, Julia Allison (Dave), Antonette Palmer (Brian Wooley), Jeannie Johnson, and Christie Gay Johnson; sister, Dorothea Michelle Campbell (Ronald); grandchildren, Nicholas Gay, Nicholas Marto, Christopher Marto, Morgan Wooley, Jason Wooley, Kay Newhouse, and several nieces and nephews and grandchildren. George is also survived by his beloved cats, Sheldon and Shadow. Honoring George's wishes, there will be no public services. In honor of George's love of cats, his family asks for contributions to be made to the All But Furgotten Humane Rescue at 70 Carpenter Lane, Irwin, PA 15642, or www.allbutfurgotten.com/donate.
