James Passatore Obituary

James Anthony Passatore, 86, died on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Gulf Coast Hospital in Fort Myers, FL. Jim was born on November 16, 1937 in Pittsburgh, PA and lived much of his life in the Greensburg, PA area. Jim served four years with the U.S. Army in Korea and was honorably discharged in 1962. He worked for Braun Baking Co. for 35 years and had a successful handyman business on the side. He was married to Carol Mitchell of Pittsburgh for 30 years and had three children: Lisa Nasser, James Passatore II, and Timothy Passatore. He has nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his step-daughter, Kimberly Rice Gaun of Fort Myers, FL. He also leaves behind two 'sons-by-choice,' Anthony Kelly of Baden, PA and Raphael Staes of Brugge, Belgium. After Carol's death, Jim married Mary Anne Lois Rice of Greensburg, PA in 1993 and they moved to Fort Myers, FL in 2007. As a man of many talents, Jim never met a project that he couldn't tackle and successfully complete! He and his wife, Mary Anne, worked tirelessly to build and decorate the Southwest Military Museum and Library in Cape Coral, FL. Jim was always willing to lend a hand to another vet, friend or family member. Jim loved to travel with his wife, Mary Anne and RV'd, cruised and drove both the United States and foreign destinations. His greatest gifts were his love of life, hard work, and a generous spirit. He left a piece of himself behind everywhere he went. Family and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 10 AM on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Saint Vincent Basilica, Latrobe.
