Jane Schreckengost Obituary

Jane H. Schreckengost, 94, of Greensburg, passed away Thursday, Sept. 18, 2025. She was born May 2, 1931, in McKeesport, a daughter of the late James B. Hurst and Daisy H. Rugh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Dennis F. Hull; her second husband, Paul A. Schreckengost; and a grandson. Jane graduated from New Castle High School and Wilson College, Chambersburg. As a teaching assistant for the Institute of International Education, she taught English for a year in Tulle, France. She taught at Norwin High School for 27 years and was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church. She leaves behind a blended family of four children, nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Family and friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, at KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, 524 North Main St., Greensburg. Service will be officiated by Rev. Dr. Martin Ankrum.
