John D'Aversa Obituary

John David D'Aversa, 60, died Nov. 13, 2024, at his home in Minden, NV. Born John David Deverse on April 8, 1964, in Greensburg, PA, he was the third child and second son of Patsy J. (Head) Deverse and Frank T. Deverse. John's childhood was spent in Wappingers Falls, NY, and Sunnyvale, CA. He graduated from Fremont High School, the University of San Diego, and the California Culinary Academy. He worked for Apple, Tony Robbins and IMI. John was admired for his superior intellect, sharp humor and the passion he brought to any of his interests such as scuba diving in exotic oceans and mastering the guitar in his final decade. Gifting mountains of his Christmas pizzelles was one way he showed his family love. Equally, his big heart went out to the many cats he rescued in his life, adopting them into his home, often loving on as many as four at a time and tending to their every medical need until they came to their natural ends. Heartbroken family and friends include John's parents, all three siblings and their spouses, six aunts and uncles, 11 nephews and nieces. The memorial will be private. To honor John's memory the family suggests donations be made in John's memory to The Douglas County Animal Shelter, communityservices.douglascountynv.gov/animal_services
