John "Jack" C. Evans, 100, of North Huntingdon, passed away Monday, Jan. 24, 2022, at Juniper Village, Forest Hills. He was born Sept. 4, 1921, in North Braddock, a son of the late Willis and Lillian (Coulson) Evans. Prior to his retirement, Jack was a research technician for U.S. Steel, a World War II veteran of the Army and a Mason. He was a member of Circleville United Methodist Church and enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing basketball, doing yard work and camping and traveling with Jean. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Jean Evans; great-grandson, Bennett Evans; brothers, Willis and Howard Evans; and sister, Narida Evans Rhodes. He is survived by his son, John Evans and his wife, Lorna; daughters, Ellen Evans Yagodzinksi and her husband, Frank, and Christine Evans Williams and her husband, Jim; 11 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the JAMES W. SHIRLEY FUNERAL HOME, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA 15642. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park, Monroeville. www.shirleyfuneralhome.com.
