Judith Laughlin Obituary

Judith Ann Laughlin, 79, of Greensburg, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2025. Judy was known for her love of gardening, music, and animals. She loved walks in the woods and mornings at Twin Lakes with her friend Carol. She had an adventurous side. She loved going to Celtic Thunder concerts and cruises. She white-water rafted, helicoptered over a volcano, and rode in an air balloon. She liked to travel, whether gathering shells on Sanibel Island, climbing ruins in Mexico, jumping waves in Nags Head, walking the rainforest in Puerto Rico, or renewing her vows in Ireland; she knew how to make the most out of life. Judy played guitar on her blonde Gibson, and her oil paintings adorned most walls in her house. She worked for many years with friends Janie, Janie, and Neva at JC Penney in fine jewelry in Greengate Mall and then as an executive secretary at Forbes Regional Hospital. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Patrick Laughlin; her son, Brian Laughlin, who was lucky enough to move back here two years ago and spend time with his mom; and her daughter, Rhonda Laughlin, who had the privilege of working with her mom at her optometric office as her everything but most recently as office manager. She adored her granddaughters Elizabeth, Natalie, and Olivia Christopher, whom she never missed a play or program they were in. They had their tea parties and scavenger hunts even as the girls were in their twenties. Judy was preceded in death by her father, William Hauck. She is survived by her mother, 101-year-old Billie Hauck; her sisters, Sandy Hauck and Pamela (Hauck) Lutz; her nephews, Sean Hauck (wife Tonja) and Benjamin Pidgeon (wife Allyson); and her niece, Candace Pidgeon. She loved her family, which also included grandnieces and grandnephews. She had many dogs and cats throughout her life, and those surviving, Markie, Loki, and KC; and her beloved horse, Shamrock, will be missing her. Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of Judith's funeral service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 North Main St., Greensburg. Pastor Chris Whitehead will be the officiant. Interment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Action for Animals, P.O. Box 814, Latrobe, PA 15650. I still can´t believe this. Our morning conversations will never be quite the same. Coffee for me, tea for Judy and love shared in conversations. And now there are two, Carol and me.
