Kathleen Claypool Obituary

Kathleen I. (Schall) Claypool, 85, of Ford City, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. She was born Dec. 9, 1939, in Kittanning, the daughter of Lloyd A. and Mabel (Rearick) Schall. Kathleen was a lifelong resident of Armstrong County and blessed to live out her calling of caring for her family. She was a dedicated member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the church choir. Kathleen was a former member of the Burrell Township Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and for many years, she volunteered at the food bank at Bethel Township Fire Department. She loved spending time outdoors, and her favorite hobbies were bird watching, working in her flower gardens, and completing word searches. Kathleen had a special spot in her heart for her cats and was happiest when spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered with love by her sons, Bob Claypool and wife, Jenny, of Ford City, and Keith Claypool and partner, Mike Casey, of Tarentum; daughter, Teresa Wright and husband, Darrell, of Ford City; grandchildren, Shaun Wright and wife, Christine, Michelle Fisher and husband, Shawn, Ashley Sirochman and husband, Steve, Crystal Enterline and husband, Codey, and Melissa Claypool; step-grandchildren, Lanette Nesbitt and husband, TJ, and Melissa Feidler and husband, Jason; great-grandchildren, Sophie and Derek Wright, Curtis and Morgan Fisher, Tyler and Natalie Sirochman, Sadie, Caleb, Lilah, and Alaina Enterline; step-great-grandchildren, Andrew Cravener, Josh Cravener, Kody and Kenzey Nesbitt, and Alexis, Max, and Brooke Feidler; and sister, Delores Sacherich and husband, Larry, of Greensburg. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Harold "Dale" Claypool, whom she married Jan. 23, 1958, and who died June 6, 2018; and brother, William L. Schall. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Clark Chapel of BAUER FUNERAL HOME INC., 238 S. Main St., Elderton, PA. Additional visitation will be on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 2264 Garretts Run Road, Ford City, PA 16226, with the Reverend Barbara Love officiating. Interment will be in Brick Church Cemetery, Ford City, PA. Contributions can be made in Kathleen's memory to St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 2264 Garretts Run Rd., Ford City, PA 16226.
