Robert Strait Obituary

Robert Clair Strait, 89, of North Huntingdon, died July 28, 2025. He was born Sept. 25, 1935, in Hustontown, a son of the late Clair and Anita Strait. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Anita King and grandson, Taylor Robert Strait. Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Sara (Sally) Strait. He is also survived by his brother, Alan Strait and partner, Sydney Dohring; by sons, Scott and wife, Diane Del Signore, Kenneth and wife, Kimberly McKown-Strait, Steve and wife, Anna, and David and wife, Doretta; by his daughter, Sara Mayo and husband, Richard; and by eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. His love and devotion will be greatly missed by his large family. Robert was a 1953 graduate of East McKeesport High School and attended the University of Pittsburgh, class of 1957. He was a member of Brush Creek Lutheran Church, a 28-year employee of US Steel, a lifetime member of the NRA and the Studebaker Driver's Club, and a world traveler of seven continents and 85 countries. A memorial service to celebrate Robert's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 29 at Brush Creek Lutheran Church, Irwin, with Reverend Roger L. Steiner presiding.
