Robert Zanke Obituary

Robert S. Zanke, 74, of Murrysville, passed away peacefully at home, Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025. He was born in Wheeling, WV, the son of the late Dominick and Philomena (Puperi) Zanke. Bob was a graduate of Wheeling Central Catholic High School in 1969, Steubenville College in 1973 (B.S. engineering), and Carlow University in 2006 (M.S. counseling). He was employed in the information technologies field for 30 years as a computer analyst, programmer, and consultant for several Pittsburgh area corporations. Bob was an enthusiastic fan of the Pittsburgh area sports teams, especially the Steelers. Bob also enjoyed traveling and visiting historic sites and museums. Bob will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 46 years, Anita S. Zanke. Respecting Bob's wishes, no visitation is planned, and a memorial gathering will be held at a later date. The final resting place will be at Twin Valley Memorial Park in Delmont. VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC., 463 Athena Dr., Delmont (724-468-1177), has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Robert's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of one's choice.
