Ronald E. Misiewicz, also known as 'Ron' or 'Brother Ron' by family and friends, passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 23, 2025, at the age of 81, at his home in Alverton, PA. Born on March 26, 1943, in Mt. Pleasant, PA, the son of the late Edward J. and Nell A. Shubra Misiewicz. Ron was a man whose life was marked by devotion to his family, his faith, and his community. Ron graduated from East Huntingdon High School in the Class of 1961 and continued his education at St. Vincent College in Latrobe. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army with the PA National Guard, HQ-HQ Co. 1st Bn. 28th Infantry Division in Scottdale from 1964 to 1972 as a Sr. Pay Specialist, attaining the rank of SP/5. His work ethic was unwavering, demonstrated by his 20 years of service with the Mt. Pleasant Cab Company and his 30 years as a district manager for the Daily Courier. A devout and active Catholic, Ron's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He was a lifelong member of the Partner Parish of St. Joseph R.C. Church in Everson, where he contributed as a choir member, former lector, CCC instructor, and a dedicated parish council member. His commitment to his faith and church was evident in everything he did. Ron is survived by his loving family, including his daughters Julie A. Blair and her husband Brandon of Ligonier, PA, and Jennifer D. Palmiscno of Scottdale, PA. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, Kayla, Jae, Jacob, Lucas, and Elena Palmiscno, Halle Blair, and Mackenzie Bastian, and her husband Ryan. Ron's joy was multiplied with the birth of his great-grandchildren, Dominic A. Meteny and Sylvia T. Horak, who brought him immense happiness in his later years. He also leaves behind his brother, Jerome Misiewicz; his wife, Sheryl of Bethel Park, PA; his nephews, Kevin Misiewicz and his wife Alli, Craig Misiewicz; his great-nieces; and his special aunts, Flo Mohney and Mary "Min" Misiewicz, both of Mt. Pleasant. Beyond his family and faith, Ron was known in the community for his involvement with several organizations. He was a proud member of the Polish American Club of Everson, the Scottdale Elks BPOE #777, and the Scottdale Fireman's Club. Ron's interests were diverse; he had a passion for reading and music, and he enjoyed writing in his spare time. Known as "Brother Ron" at Karaoke, he shared his love for music and his jovial spirit with many. Church, Everson with Fr. Craig Alexander as Celebrant. Committal Services and Interment will follow in St. Joseph Parish Cemetery. Mt. Pleasant American Legion Post #446 will bestow Military Honors, Thursday evening, at 7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. The Funeral Home Doors will be locked between visiting hours.
