Shirley Linderman Obituary

Shirley P. Montgomery Linderman passed away at her home Monday, Oct. 11, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born March 25, 1938, in Reynoldsville, to the late John and Naomi Montgomery. She grew up and spent her adolescence in the Kinloch area of New Kensington. She raised a family and spent the rest of her life as a homemaker in Springdale Township. Shirley loved Jesus and was a lifelong member of Real Life Church Assembly of God in Arnold. Some of her hobbies included crafting, watching John Wayne movies, playing cards, swinging on the porch swing, and most of all, spending time with her family. She was a kind, loving soul who could make friends with anyone. Almost anyone was welcome at her home, where she would sit you at the kitchen table and make sure you had eaten enough. Shirley is survived by her husband and best friend, David Day Sr.; granddaughters, Carrie Price, Jamie Linderman, Erin Linderman and Patricia Linderman; great-grandchildren, David Price, John Price and Anna Price; siblings, her twin sister, Jean Fink, Richard Montgomery, Betty Smouse, Helen Swegard, Robert Montgomery and Virginia Fisk; stepchildren, David Day Jr., Dan Day, Michele Bowers, Sandy Long, Karen Lucio and Lynn Taylor; and a son, Torrence Linderman Jr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Torrence Linderman Sr.; a daughter, Helen Linderman-Grilli; and three brothers, Tom, Sam and Jack Montgomery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021, in THE CHARLES B. JARVIE CHESWICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1607 Pittsburgh St. Services will commence at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 15, with burial to follow in Lakewood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, 15205. www.jarviefuneralhome.com.

Every memory of Shirley, starts with her beautiful smile! She was such a good supporter of our church! She will be missed. She is on every single prayer request in kids church, from David, Johnny and Anna. What an impact she has made on those 3 children.... Your Granny is safe with Jesus. Take comfort in your faith and hang on to your memories. God bless. Hugs and love to each of you.
