Miss Tusing was my Spanish teacher & truly one of the best. Such a kind & caring person. She took me on an IntraAmerican Student Tour to Mexico in the summer of 1974. What great memories we made with our group. She was always so kind to our Spanish speaking exchange students. She was a caring mother figure to them when they were scared, homesick, etc. I got to take one of those students to her house a few years ago when they were here visiting me. It was wonderful to see them reconnect. She touched so many hearts. Thank you! And what a compassionate coach she was to many. She has a special place in our hearts.

Miss Tus, as many of her students and ball players called her, was a wonderful, caring, always put a smile on your face type of individual. She always made you feel okay, even in tough times. She will be missed by many. So happy to have had her as a coach in my life.

Yesterday

A tremendous and caring teacher, a great coach, a sweet lady and a wonderful friend. I will miss you "Three-sing"! That is what I would call her when she called me "McQuatics"! until we meet again. It was a privilege to be your colleague.

Yesterday

I had Ms. Tusing for homeroom in 11th Grade. She was a wonderful caring lady. Always willing to help students in her homeroom with homework for other subjects. On Fridays if you asked her to sing she would "Tusing" some random song for her students. Years later I befriended her niece and was always sure to ask how she was doing. She will be missed. Condolences to Sarah and the rest of her family

Betty was my Spanish teacher starting in 8th grade at Tarentum High School. Then she was my
basketball coach. She encouaged me to go into teaching and sports officiating! She was my friend far beyond high school and college! Betty had a flawless two hand jump shot from outside today's 3-point line! She had the biggest smile and warmest heart! Vayas con Dios, mi Amiga! We are all better from having had you in our lives! Love and prayers for the family and friends!

Ms. Tusing was my Spanish teacher for many years. I was a fan of hers as a coach as well. She watched me and critiqued me playing baseball. She was always smiling and laughing with me. A very genuine woman. After graduation when we saw each other over the years, we talked life, she asked about my mother, my children and always shared a hug. You were a difference maker in the classroom, on the field and in life Ms. Tusing

She was My Aunt Sis and One of the Best People I've Ever Known. I Cannot even Begin to State All She Did and Taught Me. As a Teenager I Spent as Much Time at the Tusing Household that I Could. Forever Loved and Missed.

Mi nombre es Alan, extrañaba a Tusing en la clase de español. Yet, in Miss Tusing´s class I learned so much more than Spanish. Forever grateful for her knowledge of sports and world affairs, coupled with her immense enthusiasm of all the things she enjoyed. That spark made learning easier, because just being around her was fun. With HUGS and sympathy to her family and all who knew her....

Miss Tusing was a great basketball coach at Highlands in the 1970's. Because of her expertise and all she taught me I went on to play college basketball starting as a freshman. She was so kind and unassuming. The perfect teacher too. I never forgot her all these years later.
