Elsie Horan Obituary

Elsie J. Horan, 94, of Rostraver Township, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025. Born in Pricedale on Nov. 30, 1930, Elsie was a daughter of the late Henry and Pearl (Beato) Lewis. Elsie retired from Brookvale Manufacturing in Monessen and also worked at Zelinski's Bridal Shoppe in Charleroi. She was a member of Church of St. Anne in Rostraver Township and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers. Elsie was also well-known for making wedding, birthday, and anniversary cakes for friends and family. She is survived by her sons, Thomas D. (Lois) Horan of Greensburg and Patrick Horan of Florida; daughter, Linda Shrum of Bethel Park; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Elsie was preceded in death by her husband of 77 years, Thomas L. Horan, on July 12, 2025; daughter, Donna Dolfi; son-in-law, Thomas Dolfi; and siblings, Albert (Norma) Lewis, Dorothy (James) Lucas, and Carl (Ursula) Beato. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday in JAMES C.
