Gary Schrag Obituary

Gary E. Schrag Sr., 77, of Tarentum entered into God's Kingdom on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025, and is now at peace in the arms of his savior after a long and painful battle with Parkinson's and heart disease. He was born April 2, 1948, in Natrona Heights, to the late Grace (Moxon) Schrag and lived most of his life in Tarentum. Gary graduated from Tarentum High School in 1967. Gary was a warehouse laborer for Action Industries in Cheswick and Blackburn's Physicians Pharmacy in Tarentum for a number of years. He loved watching all sports on TV, especially the Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins, and had a whole room dedicated to displaying all the memorabilia he collected. Gary loved going to flea markets, auctions, and garage sales where he could add to his collection. Gary is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Aline (Kustra) Schrag. They were high school sweethearts that met in 1964 and married in 1970. He is also survived by his sons, Ronald (Daria) Schrag and Gary Schrag Jr.; daughters, Tracey (Geno) Stello and Lindsay (Russell) Mialki; grandchildren, Shawn Brown, Nicholas and Katrina Stello, Joslyn, Alexa, and Cadence Schrag, and Melissa Mialki; and great-grandson, Luca Stello. Also surviving are his siblings, Margaret Ciminera, Joyce Schrag, Darlene Schrag, Bonnie (Daniel) Fuller, Roxanne (Melvin) Sabulsky, and Ronald (Dale) Schrag; and his precious animals, Gypsy, Sam, Daniel, Charley, and Mandy. Besides his mother, Gary was preceded in death by brothers, Jack and Blaine Schrag; sister, Donna Henderson; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Olga and Emmett Kustra; and many pets that he loved and that brought joy into his life. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2025, in DUSTER FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 347 E. 10th Ave., Tarentum, 724-224-1526, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025. Burial will be in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Frazer Township.
