Hervey Peebles Obituary

Hervey A. Peebles, 88, formerly of New Kensington, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025. He was a graduate of New Kensington High School, class of 1954, and received his BS in psychology from Washington & Jefferson in 1959, followed by his MA from Webster College in 1977. Following high school, Hervey spent two years in the U.S. Army in Okinawa, Japan. Hervey joined the U.S. Air Force in 1962, served 20 years, and retired as a major in 1982. He enjoyed many excursions and outings with his family during the years he spent overseas. Hervey moved back to New Kensington, PA, and settled there for over 30 years and enjoyed his time with many friends. He spent his final two and a half years with his daughter and son-in-law in Kettering, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lemuel and Lysle Peebles; and his brother, Bob Peebles. He is survived by daughter, Kelly (Ronald Jr.) Hannan; and their four children, Alex, Joseph (Mickayla), Andrew (Blanca), and Molly (Blake) Bonds; son, Bill (Susan) Peebles; and their daughters, Skylar (Patrick) Hodgson and Ella Hodgson; daughter, Kathryn (Kenny) Smith; and their daughter, Emily (Michael) Lindsey; four great-grandchildren, Luka, Isabella, Liam, and Scarlett; nephew, Bob Peebles Jr.; niece Kristy Nies; and numerous extended family and friends. There will be a celebration of life service in New Kensington, with the time and date to be determined, and a service at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, also with the time and date to be determined. He will be truly missed. Many special thanks to his girlfriend, Carol Corchia, and her family, Casey, Carley, Don, Kirstin, Ryan, and Justin, for being his second family; he loved them dearly.
