M. Valjean (Remaley) Swauger, 86, of Kiski Township, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2020, in St. Andrews Village, Indiana. Born Oct. 17, 1933, in Franklin Township, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Florence (Summerhill) Remaley. Valjean was a graduate of Franklin Township High School and lived in Kiski Township most of her life. She was a member of the Apollo Free Methodist Church. Valjean enjoyed walking, baking, square dancing, listening to George Jones's records and babysitting for the Guthrie family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James "Ted" Swauger, who passed away in 1991; a sister, Leona Kistler; and a sister-in-law, Vivian Remaley. Valjean is survived by her children, Barbara K. (Dan) Ondrizek, of Kiski Township, Dale E. (Jean) Swauger, of Kissimmee, Fla. and Dr. Judy A. (Mark Micus) Swauger, of Anoka, Minn.; grandchildren, Charles Ondrizek, of Kiski Township, Christopher (Elsie) Swauger, of Kissimmee, Fla. and Jim Swauger, of Jacksonville, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Alec, Isaac and Isabelle; siblings, Harry R. "Bob" Remaley, of Greensburg, Betty Jones, of Lower Burrell, Howard (Nancy) Remaley, of Moon Township and Dolores (Dennis) Smith, of Erie; brother-in-law, George Kistler, of Tarentum; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the Apollo Free Methodist Church, 1027 PA State Route 56, Apollo, from 1p.m. until the hour of service at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 31, 2021, with Pastor Darrell Carney officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the CURRAN-SHAFFER FUENRAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., Apollo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Valjean's memory to the Apollo Free Methodist Church, 1027 PA Route 56, Apollo, PA, 15613; the Alzheimer's Association, 2835 E.
