Maxine Radovitch Obituary

Maxine Radovitch, 87, of New Kensington, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025. She was born in Oakmont on April 4, 1938, to the late Eli and Olean White Chidester and was a 1956 graduate of Oakmont High School. Ms. Radovitch was a longtime baker for the Oakmont Bakery, prior to which she baked for Stoecklein Bakery in Blawnox and Periwinkles in Harmar Township. Maxine was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family as well as her pet cats and dogs. She also enjoyed swimming in her pool. Survivors include her children, Karen Maxine (Clair) Faith, Robin Lee (Jimmy) Kralik, Alex "Butch" P. (Tracy) Radovitch, Dennis P. Radovitch, Shawn M. Barr, and Jamie Lee Barr (Brad Orloski); and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Melanie Radovitch Viegas; and her siblings, Orville Frank Chidester and Rosella Bayer Dixon. Viewing will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, in ROSS G. WALKER FUNERAL HOME LTD., 217 Freeport Road, New Kensington, where a service will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, 2025. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana Township.
