Robert Haas Obituary

Robert J. Haas Sr., 86 years of age from Fawn Township, passed away peacefully in his family home of many generations with the love and support of his wife, all six of his children, and his cats, Romeo and Ollie, all at his side during his transition to the Lord. Robert had been ill since April 2025 with atrial fibrillation. He sustained a fall several weeks ago, which caused his trajectory of decline and death to occur rapidly and unexpectedly. Robert was born on May 15, 1939, in Natrona Heights. He graduated from Ken High School in 1957. Robert married the love of his life, Theresa Marie Pollock, on May 30, 1958. Robert was in the Army reserves and honorably discharged in 1965. He has survived his wife, Theresa, for 67 years. They had six children, eleven grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren. All of which he wanted named in his obituary. Robert is survived by his son, Robert J. Haas Jr., of Fawn Township; his son, Mark Haas; and his daughter, Madison Haas, of Brackenridge. Son, Michael and Dawn Haas of Sarver; daughter, Kyra and (Dave) Bargiel, children, Jace, Gavin, Aubree, and Nikolas of North Huntington, PA; Dylan and (Ashleigh Young) Haas and children, Aria and Malcolm of Sarver PA; and Katlan Haas, children, Alaiya, Kasen, Julius and Elias Sarver PA; Jude and (Elayne) Haas, their daughter, Ashley and (Derick) Radovich, children, Lilly and Andrew, all of Leeper, PA; Joshua Haas of Sarver, and children, Joseph, Noah, and Angelica Haas of Leeper PA; Matthew Haas of Leeper, PA; daughter, Gretchen and (Kevin) Haugh of Saxonburg, their children, Christian of Slippery Rock, PA and Caden at home; son, Christopher Francis Haas of Fawn Township, and children, Christopher Xavier from Fawn Township and Alexandra Haas, both of Fawn Township. Robert's love for his grown children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren gave him joy every day of his life. He loved them with all his heart and soul. Robert is also survived by his five siblings, including John Haas (Rebecca West Natale) of Ohio, Rita and Gary Oravitz of Natrona Heights, PA, Frank and Christina Haas of Erie, PA, Joseph and Rita Haas of Latrobe, PA, and Paul Haas and Bonnie Kubla of Natrona Heights, PA. Robert was a hardworking man, who worked all day as an autobody repair mechanic before retiring around 1988. He would then go home and provide for his family by growing vegetables for his wife and six children. He also raised pigs and chickens to feed his family of eight. His favorite things in the world were his garden and his Blessed Mother grotto. Robert cherished his family above all else and loved "Haas Mountain" his family's homestead and the growing acres of beautiful vegetables. Robert loved animals and wildlife. He raised free-range chickens. His only surviving beloved hen, Black Betty, will miss Robert. He loved bird-watching and spending time outside. Robert was a lifetime member of the Elk Lodge 644 in Tarentum. Robert loved to watch television, binge-watch shows, and follow current events. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Haas and Louise (Kutsch) Haas; and his daughter-in-law, Kathleen R. Haas. Visitation and burial will be private. Arrangements by DUSTER FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 347 E. 10th Ave., Tarentum, 724-224-1526. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Father Andrew Fischer from Our Lady of Victory Parish of Harwick for his daily support and prayer. Visit dusterfuneralhomeinc.com.

So sorry for your loss. Prayers and hugs to the entire family. I remember your son Jude and my brother Dan sneaking down to Mary's store wearing diapers and I think the UPS driver brought them home! RIP my Metz Road/Fawn Neighbor.

So sad to hear of Bobbie´s passing, but what a beautiful eternity he is experiencing !!
What a legacy he leaves...a marriage of 67yrs! When Bobby and Teresa started dating, they came to Erie and stayed for a few days with us ( the Monschein family). at the cottage on Lake Erie.
How I wish I could have seen his garden and animals that he raised. I have memories of collecting eggs and swimming in Bull creek when we visited !!!
May God comfort you and keep his memory close to your heart My love to Theresa and all of the Haas family . Karen Monschein
