Patrick Thomas Sheehy

December 13, 1948 - June 23, 2025

Tacoma, Washington - Patrick Thomas Sheehy passed away on June 23, 2025 at age 76. Pat was the life of the party. He was happiest cooking in the kitchen, music on the stereo, with good friends gathered around his table. He was an avid reader, deep thinker, world traveler, skilled gardener, and frequent concert-goer. He was a loyal friend who kept in touch with those he loved, even in his final days.

Pat was born in Fond du Lac, Wis. on Dec. 13, 1948. The first in his family to attend college, he earned a bachelor's and master's degree in psychology from Temple University in Philadelphia and a PhD from Purdue University in Indiana. He worked as a therapist and a professor during his long career and found his greatest professional fulfillment in private practice, where he supported individuals, couples, and teens. He was an extraordinary listener, a calm presence, and a voice of compassion in difficult times.

Pat was preceded in death by his mother Alyce Osterloth, father John Sheehy, stepfather Larry Hoadley, and his wife Grace Lillicrapp Sheehy. He is survived by his two daughters, Regan Sheehy and Molly Quinlan, and five grandchildren - Harper, Kellan, Finnian, Shepherd, and Samuel. He leaves behind countless friends, colleagues and former clients whose lives were touched by his wisdom, humor, and generosity.

We'll miss Pat's witty asides, wide-open mind, curious spirit, and big, beautiful laugh. A celebration of life is planned for Fri., Aug. 1 at 12:30 p.m. in the Commencement Room of Ferrelli's Point Ruston, located at 5104 Grand Loop, Ruston, Wash.
