GERALD PALMER Obituary

Gerald "Jerry" Palmer, 80, of Sonora, passed away on June 12, 2025. He was born April 26, 1945 in Bakersfield, CA.
Jerry loved God, his church, wife and family, in that order. He was always willing to help others. He was in the Navy from 1966 to 1970 working as a jet mechanic during the Vietnam Era. He was very mechanically minded. He worked every aspect of Cal Sierra Disposal for 22 years, starting as a truck mechanic, starting the recycling center to manager. He loved to fish, boating, and rode and worked on motorcycles from age 11. He stopped riding at age 79.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jacqueline Palmer, children Anthony Palmer and Tiffany Palmer (Justin Delfino), grandchildren Kyleah Vasser (Corbin), Krizma Delfino, Anthonio Delfino, Brittany Delfino, Tina Leftridge and Zackery Palmer, 3 great-grandchildren and siblings Kathy McHenry, Dennis Palmer, Marsha Sprague, Nancy Winfrey and Johnny Palmer.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Jack E. Palmer, Roberta Palmer, James Newman, Virda Louvida Newman, sister Nancy Winfrey and Johnny Palmer.
Services were held on July 6. Donations can be made to cancer studies on behalf of Jerry.
