George Soutiere Obituary

George Soutiere, 78, of Bridgton, Maine, passed away on June 29, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents, George and Helen Soutiere, he is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda Soutiere of Bridgton, Maine; his sister, Louise Sanford of Mashpee, Massachusetts; his daughters, Lauren Soutiere Weisenthal and her partner, Brian, of Philadelphia, PA, and Tory Soutiere and her partner, Maia Simpson, of Boston, MA; and his grandson, George Simpson.

Born in 1946, he was raised in Holyoke, Massachusetts, and later moved with his family to Hyannis. He attended Burdette College in Boston and Husson College in Bangor, Maine.

George founded Med-Care Associates in 1979 and led the company for 25 years. He was renowned as an industry leader and mentor. Following the sale of his company, he continued on as a consultant during his semi-retirement, always eager to share his expertise.

A true humanitarian, he served as an active Rotarian in Bedford, New Hampshire, and volunteered as a golf coach for athletes of the Special Olympics. In retirement, he served on the board of Senior College in Lewiston and volunteered his medical supply chain expertise, sourcing and coordinating shipments of medical supplies for people in developing nations.

Golf was his passion, and he could often be found on the links of the Manchester Country Club and Bridgton Highlands. He was also a lifelong Red Sox fan who attended games with his children and never lost faith that they would once again win a World Series. His greatest joy of all was spending time with his family, supporting his daughters in all their endeavors, and cherishing every moment with his grandson.

Above all else, George was a people person who left an impression on everyone he ever met. He will be deeply missed by the many who loved him.
