Margaret Michael Obituary

Margaret "Peggy" Michael passed peacefully after a short illness, surrounded by her family.

Peggy was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. During her life, she faced

many challenges including the loss of her mother, which thrust Peggy into the role of caretaker of

her siblings at young age. Later, the early death of her husband left her to raise their children

alone. Peggy faced all these challenges relying on her strong faith and perseverance. Although

she had a career as a long-distance operator, her primary focus was always on her family and her

devotion to being a mother.

During her life, Peggy passionate about volunteer work and improving the lives of others. With

other neighborhood women she formed an organization called "The Ladies on the Hill." These

LOTH ladies would organize events for the elderly in the south end of Manchester. They hosted

many functions at their homes including cookouts, rides to appointments, clothing drives, and

more. Having grown up in the difficult times of the Depression, it was important for her to give

back to her community. The bonds these women formed would last a lifetime.

Peggy was very active until late in life. She spent four decades wintering in Florida where she

loved to swim. She enjoyed line dancing, playing cards, and any event that included being with

her family. Margaret was predeceased by the love of her life, Arthur "Mike" Michael, in 1973 and

never remarried. Margaret had a loving family and is survived by her four children: Daniel and his

wife Denise of Deerfield, NH; Patricia Dillon and her husband Butch of Raymond, NH; Thomas

Michael and his wife Lisa of Bradenton, FL; and James Michael and his wife Cheryl of Candia, NH.

She also leaves behind seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She will be missed

forever.

A Mass and Christian burial will take place on July 16, 2025. Saint Elizabeth Seton Parish 190

Meetinghouse Road, Bedford, NH at 12:00pm
